Notice of Public Meeting
The Board of Commissioners of Van Zandt County Emergency Service District No. 2 will hold a public
meeting on May 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM at 318 N. Saline Street, Grand Saline, Texas 75140
1. Call meeting to order, roll call and establish a quorum.
2. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
3. To receive public comment.
Public participation is limited to this designated portion of the meeting. Anyone wishing to speak must complete the form provided and include the topic they wish to speak about. The Board may impose reasonable restraints if deemed necessary. Time will be limited to 3 minutes per speaker.
4. To Approve the minutes of Prior meeting(s). March 12, 2024 & April 16 2024
5. To review and act on financial matters, including financial reports, financial condition of the district investments, depositories and other accounts, audits, Investment Policy, bank depository pledge agreements, and payment of the district’s bills, including approval of commissioner fees and expense reimbursements.
6. To receive and review Department reports.
a. Fire Department Report. To receive a report from Fire Chief on operations and activities.
b. Ambulance Report. To receive a report from EMS/Ambulance service provider CMF EMS
7. To review, discuss, and approve to amendments to the district 2024 Budget. Move money for Legal fees & create a line item for operating expenses as needed in 2025 budget
8. To review and act to engage sales tax consultant. Jeremy appointed for contact
The Board may receive proposals and/or presentations from potential vendors.
9. To review, discuss and act to approve a Records Management Policy and appoint records officers.
10. To discuss and confirm the next regular monthly meeting date as well as any items that need to be on the next meeting agenda.
11. Discuss Budget for 2025. Approve any motions or topics addressed.
12. Discussion John Peeler attorney working on Records Management Policy. Need name & contact person at the District’s Depository Bank for Depository Pledge Agreement. Information needed by this week.
13. Review, discuss, & consider approval of all matters pertaining to ESD2 fiscal year 2023 audit filled with the VZ County Commissioners Court deadline date June 1, 202
